Orange County Waste & Recycling (OCWR) is the county agency responsible for the operation and management of the three county landfills. During our three years of designing and delivering annual reports for the agency we were amazed at the level of technology and ingenuity used to keep the landfills operating efficiently while implementing programs focused on environmental sensitivity. Equally interesting to us was the use of raptors to keep the level of pest birds under control along with measures taken to reduce odor emissions. Along with design we captured unique images that shed new light on what actually happens at a landfill. The 2013 annual report revolved around the management of the landfill was focused on protecting the surrounding communities while providing a balance of regional services.
